I feel SO much better! It's amazing what some antibiotics and a nights sleep can do for you! I feel like a new person!
I was also excited to realize that I wanted to go back to school - I missed my cute students! I have gotten past the point of feeling lost all the time, and am starting to feel a little more organized. It is great! I just had to share some of the funny comments I have gotten over the past few weeks.

First graders have stories about everything, seriously. Animals, illnesses, birthdays, death, everything. And they like to share their stories all the time. We have had many discussions about good times to share stories (at recess, before or after school, not in the middle of a lesson) but they still struggle with the concept. I had this conversation with a student while I was teaching math yesterday:
Student: (Hand waving urgently in the air)
Me: Do you have a question?
Student: YES!
Me: Go ahead
Student: I like your earrings!
Me: Why thank you. Remember that we are talking about math right now.
But how can you not smile? He cracks me up!

Today we were having a lesson on healthy activities, and unhealthy activities. After making a list with a few healthy activity choices (playing with friends, sports, reading) I asked my students if they had any ideas of things we could add to the list.
Student: (Practically standing up as she waves her hand in the air)
Me: What could we add to our healthy activity list?
Student: THINKING!
Me: Um, sure. Thinking is a very healthy activity that we should always do!

This one is actually from the second week of school. It still makes me laugh. After the first few days of school I moved the desks around so that classroom management would be a bit better.
Me: Your first job today is to find your desk. It's not in the same place it was last week, they moved over the weekend.
Student: They moved? HOW?
Me: They do that sometimes.
Student: (shocked) Are they going to move again?

Hope I made you smile! Have a great day!

Your students are so funny! I bet they have you laughing (even if it's just on the inside) every day. Too cute!
Love it. These are too funny.
Those are great quotes! I can visualize the hand raising perfectly. They might actually pop open if your don't call on them!
Kids are so funny! I am so glad you are feeling better! Call me tomorrow and we can make pie!
LOL! I LOVE these comments. Man - I wish my high school kids said such funny things....they're too busy thinking they're cool. :P Glad you're feeling better!
