My goal for labor day was to not do anything school related for the whole day. While I did end up working on some stuff that needs to be done tomorrow, it was only for about half an hour. The rest of the day was taken up with things completely un-school related.
My dad found a great road bike on super sale this weekend, so he bought it. It needed to be broken in, so we went down to the Legacy Parkway Trail to take it for a test run. The Legacy Parkway Trail is 14 miles each way, so round trip 28 miles. It was an AWESOME ride! We have been talking about going down for a while, but today was the first day we actually made it. I loved the fact that you don't have to worry about cars at all, so I was able to focus more on playing with my different gears and pushing my bike to it's limit (probably more accurate would be MY limit).
Dad's new bike is so cool, and so fast! I made the mistake at one point of saying "faster", and off he went. I tried to keep up until he was no longer in sight. My and my little mountain bike just couldn't keep up. He let me ride his bike for a few minutes. It rides well, except for the fact that it doesn't fit me at all. It may be time for me to invest in a road bike that is my size!

The ride took us 2 hours total, and made me wish that we lived closer! It was so fun!
Tonight the whole family went up the canyon to enjoy the last of the summer weather, tinfoil dinners, and dark chocolate s'mores (*heaven*).
Grandma roasted mini-donuts instead of marshmallow's

This picture made me such a proud auntie! Our family loves our silly-face pictures. Liz has fond memories of our family picture at her wedding. We are just talented. Notice Maddie, sitting on the front row with her tongue out. At the age of TWO we have already trained her how to properly take a picture! I love it!
All in all, a great labor day!

Non-Laborious is exactly the description that Labor Day deserves! Really, it should be called Non-Labor Day. :) Love the goofy family shot. Isn't that just how we really are?
haha that really is a good framily picture. Man we are cute!!! It was a fun day, I'm glad we got to play one last time before the weather changes.

Happy Labor Day! I'm proud of you for NOT doing school stuff - we all need a break now and then. I've wanted to go biking on the Legacy trail 'cause it looks very nice. I don't know about 14 miles though...yuck! Glad you had a fun weekend!
PS No - I'm not dead.....but BEYOND busy. First year teacher + AP class = working 'til 5 almost every day. YUCK!
