On Friday my super cool SIL hosted "Cookie Fest 2009". She invited a bunch of people to come to her house, and bring a plate of their best & yummiest cookies. When each person arrived she whisked the cookies away to the back, to be given a name so they could be judged under a cloak of anonymity. The cookies were broken up into two categories- Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Specialty cookies.
In all, 22 plates of cookies were entered in the competition. It was the duty of each of us there to taste every cookie and decide which were the best. It was a challenge (there were many good ones!) but I was in heaven! I only ate a bite of each cookie, but it was fun to get to think about which textures and flavors I like best.
It was a close call, but we did decide on winners. I was super excited when my Rolo cookies won in the specialty cookie category! It's my favorite cookie, and the fact that there are only four ingredients involved make them even better! (Click here and scroll down for recipe)

I read on Lacey's blog that you won - CONGRATS!!! That sounds like such a fun party, especially the eating cookies part. :) I think you're sooo cool for dressing up for an assembly. You are too cute!
What a GREAT idea. I'm not surprised you won. Have you ever attempted a baking creation that didn't turn out?

I think it was no competition on the specialty cookie who's cookies were the best. Those things are incredible! I think you made a good choice :)

YUM! I want to go to a party like that. Maybe I should throw one! That is so funny - I make those exact same rolo cookies ALL THE TIME! They are my favorite! And they're so easy too! Yum!

So I remember you posting the recipe before and I wanted to try them. I kept forgetting to pick up Rolos, though, and finally when I bought a bag of them I forgot what I was going to make with them so I just ate them. I bought some more this week and just made them. Oh, yum!
