Yesterday was my first day of Parent Teacher Conferences. I was quite nervous about them. After much preparation I was finally ready, and they went well! When I got home last night I was exhausted! I was thrilled to come home and enjoy a piece of pie that was given to us by a neighbor. It looked divine. I added a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the top for extra satisfaction (I felt that I deserved it after conferences) and enjoyed. It was heavenly. Seriously, one of the best pies I have ever eaten. I love apple pie, but I am kind of picky about the apples in it, I like them to be well cooked, not crunchy at all. The apples in this pie had the perfect consistency! Afterward, I had this conversation with my mom:
Me: If there is such a thing as a perfect pie, that is it!
Mom: Really?!?
Me: Yes! The crust is so flaky and delicious, the filling is just the right sweetness, and the apples are cooked just right, they aren't crunchy at all!
Mom: Um, it's peach pie.
Me: WHAT?!?! Are you sure?
Mom: Yep.
Me: Oh. Well that would explain why the apples weren't crunchy.
I just assumed that it was apple pie, and because I truly thought I was eating apple pie, it tasted like it! It is incredible the power that our thoughts have!

Wow! Coming from you of all people -- who can pick out what spices have been used in a food after just one taste -- that's a pretty big mistake. Apples for peaches, eh? Would have expected that one from me. :)
After parent conferences (and sitting for hours and hours saying about the same things over and over) all senses are gone! It could have been filled with broccoli or something and you probably wouldn't have noticed!
Peach pie does sound delicious!
That is too funny! Sounds great anyway!
Te hehe that's funny. You didn't tell me that part of the pie story. You just said it was delicious.
LOL! You are too cute! I'm glad parent-teacher conferences went well - they sure can be tiring!
