Off to Wyoming I go!

My companion from the MTC (Paula)  lives in northern Wyoming.  She always invites me to come and visit her, but our schedules never work to let us get together.  This summer we were determined to make it work.  Between both of our schedules there was one time we could make it work.  It meant one day of driving to get there, one day to visit, and one day to drive back.  Kind of a crazy schedule.  But I hadn't seen her in years, and I really wanted to meet her fiance, so that is just what I did!

I was stunned by the beauty of northern Wyoming.  Seriously, so beautiful.  I was not expecting it to be quite as picturesque as it was.  Made it worth the drive!

Paula and her fiance Jerry showed me all that they could in the short time I was there.  We went on a beautiful hike up Steamboat Mountain, took drives, went shopping, had a BBQ, went on walks, and had fun!

I even taught Jerry how to braid.  He did pretty well.  He resorted to using his teeth once, but beyond that seemed to pick up on it pretty quickly :)

I love how quickly Paula and I can pick up again after not seeing each other for years.  We have only seen each other four times since returning from Brazil, but it always seems like just yesterday.   It was such a fantastic trip!

PS - If you EVER have a chance to have Lemon Meringue ice cream, DO IT!

More Fun in Colorado!

The second day of our Colorado roadtrip started with a very nice morning of sleeping in :) Such a happy thing.  We then jumped in the car and headed on some more adventures.

We visited the Four Corners (where Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico all meet.  Well, that is the idea of it anyway.  From what I hear, they are a bit off on the location)

Sitting in four states at once.
I'm just amazing like that.

Mona and Ashley in Colorado while I stay all alone in Utah.  A glimpse of things as they will be next month.  Sad day.

We took a short drive to visit New Mexico (just because)

And survived the heat with help from Sonic.

We went to a really cool Native American dance that night.

Then went back to hotel room to watch oodles of episodes of Supernatural, and stayed up until the wee hours of the morning being girls.

The next morning we checked out of our hotel, ate breakfast at noon (at the most glorious restaurant ever!)

And bid farewell to our friend

before heading back to Utah.

It was a very quick trip, but we sure had fun with it!

On Our Way to Visit Mona

A few months ago my cute friend Mona up and moved back to southern Colorado.  Ash and I decided that we needed to take a roadtrip before Ashley left Utah as well.

We may have missed our exit.   By a lot. By the time we figured out what had happened and got turned around, we were in a town called Mona.  What a coincidence.

We found our way again, and passed through some really pretty scenery (Hello, Moab!) and some really drab scenery.

Either way, we managed to keep ourselves thoroughly entertained for all seven hours of the drive.  You would think that with as much as we talk we would run our of things to talk about.  We never do.

We rejoiced when we saw this beautiful sight!

And rejoiced even more when we saw this beautiful woman!

We checked into our hotel, ready for a few days of glorious fun!
