Officially a Teacher

Today I officially became a teacher. While I have been teaching now for a grand total of 14 days, today a student walked into the classroom and gave me this:

Yes, folks, I was given my first apple! I didn't know the whole teacher/apple relationship still existed. It may be the size of a golf ball and slightly bruised (a trip in the backpack of a 1st grader can't be easy) but it is an apple just the same and I love it! I feel so important and teacher-ish!

*Just a funny sidenote - this same student walked into class the second day of school and presented me with a yellow highlighter. He is hilarious!

He knows that you are his teacher and treats you as such. What a sweet little guy!

hehe that's so cute. Oh by the way... I haven't done the thing yet because we have been too sick to leave the house. :(I still want to do it though... hopefully tomorrow will be better.

When the apples start coming, the students are happy and secure. Good job!

That is so awesome!!! You've officially been initiated into the teacher's society. That's great. :)

Wow - an apple for the teacher!!! I didn't know people even gave apples anymore. Hmmm- I can only hope that someday, I too, can be given an apple. :P Seriously though - that's just plain cool!
