Whoops!

I was cooking dinner on Tuesday night and had a little mishap with the stove. We have a gas stove, and one of the burners has been acting up lately. I went to turn it on, and while the spark didn't catch, there was still gas coming out. I went to turn it off so that I could try again, but as I turned it backwards all the gas that had been coming out finally caught fire made a small explosion.

I jumped backwards, pretty surprised. The first thing I did was check my hair to make sure it was okay (last time there was a mishap with the stove I almost started my hair on fire) To my relief it was pulled back. I couldn't figure out the weird, burnt-hair smell was. I looked down to see if my sweater had caught on fire and noticed that the backs of my fingers were covered in tiny black dots. Yes, I had singed off the tiny hairs on the backs of the fingers on my right hand.

Who does that?

Another odd thing - yesterday I donated blood. Everything went fine, and fast, but when I got home I realized that I had a bruise on my finger from where they pricked me. I didn't bruise on my arm where the needle had been, but the tiny prick bruised me!

hahaha, I guess with you, anything is possible. :) Remember "your not normal." Love you! Oh and we miss you too! I hope you'll be home tonight when we come bring the girls over to play.

I didn't know you had enough hair on your fingers to even singe off! I'm so glad that was all that burnt... kinda scary! And I don't think you did your bruised finger justice in this post... it looks worse than you described it! And all from one tiny pin prick...

Sounds like one of those days when you should NOT get out of bed! I once singed the top of my head with a burning candle. Good thing we can laugh about things!
