As I have mentioned, I took years of German in High School, but speak very little. Sometimes the occasional word does pop out - like thank you. I had this conversation last week:
cute student: (handing me something) Here you go!
me: Danke!
cute student: Ooooohh . . . my Dad speaks Spanish too, so he could teach me!
me: (giggling) I'm sure he could!
I should probably stick to the Latin based languages in my classroom!
