For the past year and a half I have had the blessing of serving in my ward's Relief Society Presidency. Today we were released. It was a bittersweet moment.
When I was first called I was terrified. I didn't know the other girls, and I didn't feel prepared for the things I would need to do. What I didn't know then was that serving in this presidency would turn out to be one of the biggest blessings of my life.
Though we didn't know each other well at first, it didn't take long to become close friends. We worked hard. We spent a lot of time trying to do everything we needed to, and we also spent a lot of time talking to each other, and helping each other through different parts of life. We became like sisters. We are all pretty goofy, which led to numerous occasions where we would sit and joke and giggle. We had fun, and made many, many great memories.
We cried when we found out we would be released. Yes, it means that I have some more time now than before, but I will sure miss all the time we got to spend together! I have loved this calling and will truly miss it!

I think serving together in callings makes for life long friendships. Good luck in your next adventure!
Just enjoy the break while you have it, I'm sure it won't be long before a new calling will come along.
I couldn't agree with you more Katie! I had no idea how much this calling would impact my life, I am so grateful that we have become such good friends!
I hope you enjoy your next calling. It is always scary when you get released because you never know what the next one will be.
June works best for us. I am coming to Utah in the middle of July and then August my sisters are coming to visit. But whenever is best for you would be great. Can't wait to see you.
What a great experience this has been for you! I understand the bittersweetness of it all... I'm glad that you'll all still have each other as friends as you move on to new callings.
