Week Two!

After two weeks of "Feel Great in Eight" I can honestly say that my cravings for sweets are getting smaller. Don't get me wrong, they are still there! However, it is more manageable. This week I worked really hard to stick to the challenge rules. I ended up getting tested for allergies (a whole different post!), which meant patches on my back for 5 days. I was instructed that I could not do any activities that would cause me to sweat, or stretch too much and make the patches fall off. So I did a lot of walking. I have to say that walking slowly for 45 minutes is far less satisfying then really running for 45 minutes. I am so glad to have the patches off!

Since I couldn't focus on exercise last week, I focused instead on eating healthier, and finding ways to get more fruits, veggies, and fiber into my diet. Here are some of my new favorite foods:

  • Fiber One Granola Bars (an easy snack to eat after school, while trying to get my class ready for the next day. I love them!)
  • Frozen blueberries (sweet & delicious!)
  • Wal-mart brand fudge bars (65 calories of chocolaty goodness!)
  • Quaker Oatmeal Squares (the cereal) I could munch on these all day!
  • Ham & Cheese Lean Pockets (they now have a whole-grain crust, and when I don't have time to pack a lunch, they do the trick!)
  • Pears (not a new favorite, but aren't they delicious?)
Since last week I focused more on improving my diet, this week is dedicated to exercise. Two weeks down, six more to go.

Week 2 Point Total: 1680

I need to get your plan and get started on it myself. I'm ready for a change!

I'm impressed with how dedicated you've been. Way to truly work on being healthier! And super big yay for no more patches impeding your exercise routines. :)

I just discovered that cereal too and I also think it is delicious. :) I think I need to look into this plan of yours... I have a major problem when it comes to craving sweets!
