Yep, after 2 full years of blogging without mentioning it, we are finally going there. Sort of. I have had several people ask me why I never write about any guys or dating. Allow me to explain.
When I started this blog I decided that I wouldn't talk about my dating life on here. I figured that it would just be better not to mention any guy until he became a big enough part of my life that it became impossible to blog without mentioning him. So far, that has not happened.
Don't get me wrong, I do date. Since being home from Brazil I have met some really great guys, and made some wonderful friends. Thankfully, I have not had any truly terrible dates. But my prince charming has yet to make his appearance.
When I was younger dating seemed so simple. You grow up, move to college, date a few guys before meeting the man of your dreams and get married. I have to say, dating has not turned out that way for me!
Dating is hard. Lots of times it is uncomfortable and awkward. It can be stressful, confusing and complicated. However, I am surrounded by many people who are very happy and in love. Therefore I continue to date with the hope that in the end it will all be worth it (though the words "dating stinks" have been known to come out of my mouth on occasion).
I do have to admit that dating can also be fun and amusing. At some point I will share with you my stories - like how I got set up on a date in the middle of a parent-teacher conference, or the time that I fell asleep on a first date (a long week and a dark theater make a very bad combination) - but now is not the time. Don't worry, if anything big ever happens I will definitely post about it!

You should do blast from the past dating stories... like dates that happened long enough ago you can chat about it :)You DO have some good ones. Or at least tell the stories of how people have asked if they could set you up.
Dear Katie, I love you. Will you come on a date with me and Jack one day while Dustin is at work? Maybe we could go to Charlie's like we used to in the good old days. :) Let me know. Love, Katie
smart girl, katie. Although I would vote in favor of a private "Katie's Dating Adventures" blog. I'd read it! :)
Katie, I completely agree about not posting dating stories. I'm totally the same way. Any guy that has appeared on my blog in the last two years has been a friend. I'm private about that kind of stuff. On facebook I refuse to put anything about my dating status. It's just blank. Not single or anything. And I'm not changing it until I get married. Call me jaded, but too many couples break up and I don't need flak for it in cyberspace. Hahaha.
Read John Bytheway "what I wished I had known when I was single."
And... the internet worked for me finding a wonderful guy!!!
But, seriously, Dating is the PITS!
You make me laugh. It's ok not to want to blog about dating.... dating DOES stink! Even now that I'm married, I can look back and say that dating stinks. I don't think any of us doubt that Prince Charming is on his way - so hold out for the good ones. And in the meantime - dating can stink and that's ok. :)
