When our plane was descending into Madrid, you could see groves of olive trees scattered along the country side. As we drove down south we passed many olive groves, both wild and tame. Having studied Jacob chapter 5 in the past weeks I found this fascinating! They are a very unique tree, and the difference between tame trees and wild trees are quite obvious!
The last half of the trip I spent with my nose in a book, not because the book is the kind that you can’t put down, but because it kept me from watching what was going on outside! I could NOT drive here! And I am not a fan of roundabouts! YIKES!! It’s a good thing that Dad is a driver who doesn’t stress out in scary situations!
As we approached Mijas, the city where we are staying, my dad made the comment that this is one of those places that you see in pictures, but that you never get to go to. It is spectacular! To me, it is what I would expect to see if I visited Greece, but I was reminded that Spain is also part of the Mediterranean,
Mijas
The village where we are staying is nestled into the hills overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The vegetation that covers the hillside is green and thick, and the village is made up of white buildings with terracotta roofs.
Our hotel is build going down the hillside. Our room is situated in the -3 ½ floor. We take the elevator down to get to it. From where I sit I have a perfect view of the hillside below me, and the Mediterranean Sea.

The view from our balcony - the city, then the sea!
There is so much to see that you don’t want to close your eyes for a minute! Everything down to the smallest details is so very Mediterranean!
Mijas has a small English Branch, so today we got to go to church and understand everything that was being said! The branch is mostly made up of British people, so it was fun to get to hear the accents!
We are spending the next few days here, and I thrilled to get to do more exploring! Tomorrow I am planning on riding a donkey – stay tuned for details!
