At the bottom of our hike we asked a kind couple to take our picture for us. They were from Belgium, but spoke wonderful English! We talked a bit, and they also gave us a history lesson about the Ronda Bridge, which was built in the 18th century.

It seems like the architect was brought in from far away to design the bridge, which he did. Partway through the construction he returned to see how it was coming along. Now Ronda is a pretty windy place, and as he was looking over the side of the bridge his hat blew off. He reached to grab it, and fell to his death. I’m telling you, everything we learn about ties back to death!
That night we found a great restaurant that my dad and I especially enjoyed! You know how some restaurants have peanuts for you when you sit down, or popcorn, well this restaurant had olives! I’m not talking about the black olives that you buy in cans in the states, or even the green ones you find stuffed with a piece of red stuff. I’m talking REAL green olives. I LOVE them!! I developed this love while in Brazil, and have missed it! These olives were cured, but the pit was still in them – just the way I like ‘em! I love Spain!
