When Lacey asked me if I could babysit Ivy last night, I didn't hesitate to say yes. I mean, who wouldn't love to babysit Ivy? She is probably the most easy going baby I have ever met. I didn't realize that babysitting her could actually be dangerous!
This kid LOVES to eat. Seriously. Food is a passion. The only time she gets upset is if you don't give her the food fast enough. You can see the excitement in her eyes when she sees her food. Dinner time went off without a glitch.
Then it was off for bath time. Lucky me, Ivy LOVES bath time as well. She splashed and played, and even giggled as I washed her hair. All was well until she discovered that she could use a plastic cup to pour water over her. The third time she went to pour water over herself, she accidentally poured it into her open mouth. She was not such a happy baby at that point, though I got a good laugh!
I think she was upset that I had laughed at her in the bathtub. She must have decided to retaliate. While we were playing on the floor she reached for my face (she loves faces) and while trying to grab my lips accidentally stuck her finger up my nose. OW!!! Her tiny little finger went a LONG way up, and her tiny little nail cut the inside of my nose!
Ivy was intrigued at the red stuff that began spewing from my nose. She couldn't stop staring! It was a pretty good bloody nose, too. It took about 10 minutes for it to stop.
But how can you be mad at a face like this? Especially when she went to sleep less than three minutes after being put in her crib without so much as a whimper! But for future reference, keep your nose away from Ivy's fingers, she might be anxious to try her new trick out on you!

Oh no... that is awful! I'm sorry you got a bloody nose but I'm glad the rest of the night went really well. I'm sure Ivy had no idea she could make that happen!
LOL! Hey - at least the baby injured you and not the other way around. Colby and I had a few rather trying episodes of babysitting in Logan. They're so cute though. Sorry about the nose bleed - ouch! And she is SUCH a doll! I like the new "Kate's Corner" - did you actually draw that or do you find these somewhere?
LOL! Oops. Glad the rest of the evening went well. She's such a sweet little thing.

And yes, I'd love to have Monday night get togethers with you! That's still Jack's bedtime so we'd have to work around that but I think we should plan on it!
