Big Stuff

The last few weeks have been super crazy - Parent Teacher Conferences/ New Calling (Gospel Doctrines teacher)/ Photography Class/ Foot problems etc. On top of it all, about two weeks ago I felt like I needed to look into buying a home - and quickly (as the tax incentive is coming to a close soon). Every spare minute over the past week and a half has been spent house hunting and touring numerous homes and trying to get everything together in time.

Being the indecisive person that I am, buying a house is not something that I am made for. STRESSFUL!!! Thankfully, I have amazing parents who toured every single property with me and helped me with the pro/con list of each one. After talking to the bank I decided that a townhouse is what I am in need of for now, and what my budget can handle. I narrowed down my options and found an area that I wanted to be in. Then I toured a bunch of different homes and narrowed them all down to two that I liked. After a second tour of both, we all agreed that one was a better investment. I made an offer on Saturday. It was accepted. I am going to be a homeowner. Whoa.

We will close in June, and I will probably move in sometime in July. It is close to my parents and also to my work which makes me happy. It has two bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths and beautiful, brand new appliances (honestly, I am pretty sure that is what sold me).

So far I have had two meltdowns over the whole situation. Can anybody buy a house without having at lease one meltdown? I honestly don't think so. There is just so much to consider, and so many decisions to be made. And we are still not done! It just seems so big.

I am buying a house. Crazy, I know.

Congratulations! What a great thing to do. You will be happy you made the decision (and meltdowns come with the territory)!

I agree with everyone else... I believe meltdown(s) are absolutely part of the territory. It is such a huge thing, buying a house! A huge GOOD thing. Scary, yes, and of course nerve wracking, but still a very good thing. I can't wait to see it and have no doubt that you'll turn it into the cutest house ever! :)

Unfortunately I've had some meltdowns too. It's not a pretty sight! We should get together and commisserate. (And talk about flooring choices.)
