Maddie walked in the house on Monday morning, ran over to me first thing, and yelled, “PRETTY!” No, she wasn’t calling me pretty; she was asking me to paint her nails. Since graduating I have got to see a lot more of Maddie. Since my summer job doesn’t start until the 15th, I get to spend Mondays playing with her and making her “Pretty”. She is such a girly-girl, and knows that each Monday I will take the time to paint her itty-bitty nails because she is just so cute when she asks!
She actually sits still when I paint them. It is probably the only time during the entire week when she sits still for more than a minute. She loves to blow on her nails, though she often blows on the ones that haven’t been painted yet. It’s so funny!
After all her nails are done she has to run to everyone she can find in the house, stick her foot forward, and proclaim “PRETTY!” It’s too cute!
When I asked her to show me her nails so I could take her picture she did this:

I am definitely not a manicurist, but for Maddie, I’ll keep on doing it. I think both of us will be disappointed when it’s time for me to go back to work!

I love her pretties and how excited she gets about them. I hope Ivy will let you paint her pretty as well some day. :)
Thanks for being willing to do that for Maddie. She looks forward to Mondays because she knows she gets her nails done. She loves it!

P.S. That is exciting about your job teaching 1st grade. I graduated in Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education but I haven't stepped into a classroom since. It sounds like fun but of course I really love being a stay at home mom. Enjoy it!
