I had three choices on Saturday. I could:
- Work in my classroom. I am always behind (true story) I think I could live there and still not be caught up. Or I could:
- Clean my house. It has been neglected the past few weeks and could use some serious attention. Or I could throw responsibility out the window and:
- Go on a fantastic 11.4 mile (round trip) hike to give myself some much needed physical & mental exercise.
There are stunning views
and colorful trunks.
And all of that was just leading up to the main event: The Jardine Juniper. This juniper tree is estimated to be 3200 years old, which means it was a young tree when the Egyptians were building the pyramids.
It is still alive (at the top) and extremely cool!

You made a good choice! Besides, it is impossible to get everything done at school so give yourself a little fun time.
That looks beautiful! What a fun day. I'm glad I got to hear all about it. That really is quite the hike. I am so impressed.
I didn't realize that the old Juniper was truly so OLD! WOW! I'm glad that you had such an enjoyable time and chose such a fun way to spend your day off! ;)
PERFECT choice! I think "me" time is very important for a teacher. Glad you could enjoy the beautiful hike!
