FINALLY!

Do you remember that science experiment that I did with my second graders? Where the bread refused to grow ANYTHING, including mold? (If not, click here) Well, after six weeks of not-so-patiently waiting, and even leaving my beloved second graders, the bread FINALLY started growing! Well, some of it started growing. Over 2/3 of the bread still looks like this:

How can bread, after six weeks, still look like this and be soft enough for some PB&J? It is mind boggling! On the brighter side, some bread is starting to look like this:

And this:

And this: (door handle. Appetizing, isn't it?)

This bread was infected by keyboard germs. Can you see the yellow? It shows exactly where the bread touched the keyboard! So gross!

And to leave you with my favorite, take a peek at this rainbow colored beauty! from yellow, to light orange, dark orange, red, brown, blue and green. This piece has it all! (In case you were wondering, these germs came from the hallway floor)

So much for the 10-second rule!

That is truly frightening! I'm going to send Austin to Kindergarten with hand sanitizer in his backpack. (Do you think he'd actually use it?)

that is so sick1 I believe all the different colors on the bread. Then second rule isn't a very good rule i guess?

No wonder I have been sick so many times this year. Germs, germs, everywhere!

Nasty. So you're telling me if I eat bread off of a bathroom floor it will grow nasty looking mold in 6 weeks? I guess I'll stop picking up scraps of food in public restrooms now. :)

Ewwwww, gross! Now I'm wanting to upchuck my lunch. Blech! Yay for the experiment working though... I'll think twice now before feeding Ivy her rice puffs she's dropped on the floor...

That is seriously disgusting! If you are going to make it as a teacher, you must never think of it again! :) Love the kids - ignore their nasty germs! :) I sent a quick email to Trudy - so if they are hiring, I hope she calls you in! Keep me updated!

Me again! I got a response from Trudy - she asked that you stop by and visit with her. Probably a good sign. If I were you, I would call and ask the secretary what a good time/day would be and make sure you take in a resume. I'm not sure if they are hiring, but it never hurts to get your foot in the door. Let me know how it goes!
