True story

As I am sure you all know, I am working with a second grade class right now. I have been amazed at the academic jump that students make between first and second grade! It is truly amazing to see the progress they make! Though they are much more advanced in many ways (especially reading) they still say things that crack me up. The conversation I am about to share with you is completely true. If an older student had said it, it probably would have been just to get a reaction. But it was an innocent 2nd grader who really didn’t know what he had said. It was one of my first days, so I was observing a group while their teacher worked with them.

Teacher: Who remembers what we call the punctuation mark to show that someone is talking?

Student: (waving hand in air) Isn’t it a constipation mark?

:)

Happy Tuesday!

that really is pretty funny. I am kind of scared for Maddie to start really talking because I know she is going to start giving away our "secrets" unknowingly to what she is doing (or knowingly)
