bunny camo

The last few weeks my second graders have been learning about how animals survive in winter. We learned about animals that hibernate, migrate, and stay active during the winter. We did lots of fun activities, but the one that was the students’ favorite was when we learned about how some animals change colors during the winter so they can blend in with the snow (cool, huh?) After learning about why animals camouflage for safety reasons, each student was given a rabbit that they were suppose to color so that it could “hide” in the classroom. After all the students had left for the day we hid them all over. The next morning the students had a blast trying to find every rabbit. I think there are still some that haven’t been found yet! Can you find the rabbits ;-)

That is so funny. I bet your kids loved that. I always loved when we got to do fun activities like that.

That sounds like a great activity! I'm glad it went so well. You'll have to remember that one for your own classroom (if you end up teaching younger kids).

Cute rabbits. I bet the kids loved it. I also love the biggest loser. I'm hooked this year. I've never seen it either but it motivates me too. I've been running two miles for awhile and i need to get up to three. Andy and I are going to run a 5k in sept. for sure possibly more. Maybe one here. I'm way excited. I love running. If i can't be playing a sport i would rather run then do any other type of exercise. I hope the snow melts fast for both you and me. Have fun watching Biggest Loser.

What a cute and fun activity! I need more fun things like this for my Geometry students. They may be in high school - but they sure get excited to color and make crafts. :)
