I am breaking my rule about not blogging about dating, because some stories are too priceless to lose! So here goes the story of how I ended up on a polygamist date:
Last summer I met a really nice guy we shall call Bob (name changed to protect his identity). We hit it off pretty quickly. We had a bunch in common, and due to a really long drive, had a lot of time to talk. During this time it came up that The Scarlet Pimpernel is one of my all time favorite books & musicals. Bob told that the musical was coming to town in about a month. He asked me if I would like to go with him. I agreed, of course. I mean, it is The Scarlet Pimpernel!
Sounds like your average Boy-Asks-Girl-On-A-Date, right? Wrong. We got together several times over the next few weeks, and one time he asked if I thought my friend Abby would like to go with us. I thought he meant a double date (Abby was kind of dating a guy at the time), so I said she might be, and he should ask.
He did ask Abby if she would like to go with us. But just Abby. No other guys. Hmmmm. This kind of confused me (and Abby as well). I thought that maybe it wasn't really a date, but just a group of friends going to a play together.
But Bob insisted on buying all the tickets.
And picking us both up (at my house).
And opening the car doors for us.
And even gave us both a good-night hug on my porch at the end of the night (not at the same time, that would have been even more odd!)
Can you say AWKWARD!?!?! We have refered to it as the polygamist date ever since. I guess if you date two girls at once you can date many more girls! I still find this incident baffling, and amusing!

Creepy! Or maybe he was just insecure about the one on one dating thing.
No way! That's awesome! Hahaha! So, so weird. I hope you didn't go out with him again.
haha, oh man. That story still makes me laugh. :)
Hahaha! How funny. At least you got to go see The Scarlet Pimpernel. :)
Ha! I love that story. :)
I really laugh every time I think about this experience you had. I mean, seriously, what was Bob thinking???? I'm glad that you wrote this one down to record. :)
That is one of the strangest funniest dating stories I have ever heard. Haven't you ever thought about having a sister wife before? I mean, that's totally normal right?
Ha ha ha Katie you always have the best stories! :)
