One of the benefits of living in a frigidly cold area is the annual outdoor skating rink. Each year they (I'm not sure who they are, but they are awesome!) turn one of the city parks into a huge ice rink. The park sits down the hill from the temple, so as you skate you get to enjoy the beautiful view of the lit temple.
Yesterday night my ward went skating. It was WONDERFUL! I have always enjoyed ice skating (I was a bit obsessed with roller blading as a child, and ice skating is so similar it takes me back in time!)
There was lots of skating, falling, chains, and pulling terrified people around the rink while they tried to stay upright (that makes it sound like we were torturing people. I promise we weren't).

I love that rink. I think it is absolutely beautiful. It is almost a dream I think. What a fun activity. I want to go soon myself. Well, with my little girls and hubby and family too but yeah.
I am NOT an ice skater (or a roller blader) in any way, but I completely agree with you that skating at the outdoor rink is so much more fulfilling than skating inside. Looks like you guys had a blast! I hope it wasn't TOO cold. :)
Looks like you guys had so much fun! I'm totally jealous! The skating rinks are one of the many things I miss about living in Cache Valley! :)
This looks like so much fun! I can't believe I didn't know about this living in Logan for 4 years!
