Our Christmas Miracle

The Sunday before Christmas my parents rushed my grandma to the hospital in the middle of the night. She was in a lot of pain, and couldn't figure out why. She was then rushed to a different hospital and put into emergency heart surgery. While she was in surgery she had a heart attack, and my parents were told that she probably wouldn't make it. Monday was a crazy day. I spent the morning searching for a substitute, but to no avail. There was no substitutes available (I can tell you that day I was not a great teacher!) By the time I made it there on Monday afternoon she was doing remarkably well, much to the doctor's surprise. She continued to get better and better, and was able to come home on Christmas Eve. She ended up having to go back into the hospital the day after Christmas (she is coming home again today) but we are all so grateful that she was able to spend Christmas with us, and that she is doing so well!

The whole gang (we learned that if we sing while trying to take family pictures, the girls will smile!)

The little girls "helped" me build a gingerbread house (aka - ate the decorations while I built a gingerbread house. I can't resist Ivy's "mo peez!")

Googley-eye glasses

Lacey gave me the greatest gift. Last year I spent a lot of time putting together my 2008 blog book. However, I never quite finished it and got it printed. For Christmas, Lacey (with a lot of help from steve) finished formatting it, and had it printed.

It is the greatest present! Since my blog is my journal and my scrapbook, I am grateful to have a hard copy that will last forever! THANKS LACE!

It was a great Christmas this year... even with all the unplanned sickness. I'm glad Grandma gets to come home today though. Hooray for us.

You're welcome! I was so excited about it that I had a really hard time not saying anything that would give it away. And in reality, Steve did most of the work. :) You were nice to let the girls "help" with your ginger bread house. :)
