More Fun at the Hill Cumorah

After an intense first week of practicing for the Hill Cumorah Pageant, the second week was more relaxed (though we still stayed busy!) We used our free time to see the sights, serve, and have fun!

We visited the Sacred Grove

It is so beautiful and so peaceful.  I could stay there for days.

The Palmyra Temple

The Smith Farm (and the Grandin building, where the Book of Mormon was originally published, I forgot to take pictures!)

We spent an afternoon replacing all of the wood chips in a local park.

And went bowling using the strangest techniques we could come up with.

We had a pinewood derby race

(our car didn't win)

Tried some Canadian delicacies (The ketchup chips were fine, but I LOVED the All Dressed chips!)

And got rained on.  A lot.

And of course, each evening we returned to the Hill Cumorah to meet and greet the audience, and then perform the wonderful show.

Except for the night when we got rained out.  The lightning went on for hours.  It was impressive.  Since the stage is huge, made of metal, and in the middle of a field they decided to cancel.  We were all very disappointed, but grateful it wasn't the final night!

So even though we worked hard and practiced a lot, there was still quite a bit of time for having all sorts of fun adventures!

I'm so glad you got to do this. It looks like such a wonderful experience. I just wish we could have come to see the show.
