One of my cute little first graders ran into class, so excited to give me this:
I told her how beautiful it was, though I wasn't quite sure what it was suppose to be. Right about then she exclaimed "It's Rapunzel, flying a kite!" to which I replied, "Well look at that, it sure is!"

That is exactly why I loved first grade too!! Hope year three is going well!!! I am sure you are FABULOUS teacher!
And good response, just enough interest to make it seem like you knew exactly what it was but enough wait time to actually find out what it was!
