After packing my bags at 4:30 Friday morning, Lacey and Steve picked me up to head off on our Florida adventure. They dropped me off at Karl & Liz's house and we all headed to the airport together. Karl & Liz had asked me if I would travel with them, since they had 3 kids and only 2 of them. So I adopted Maddie for the flight.
All three girls were PHENOMENAL on the flight to Florida!
Brookie kept saying "Mommy, I FLYING!!!"
It was darling!
This is what we all looked like half way through the day...
Even though the girls were angels on the flight, we were so happy to finally get to Florida! We grabbed some dinner and headed to the hotel where we all slept like rocks!
Saturday: We woke up much earlier than any of us wanted to (8:00 AM Florida time = 6:00 AM Utah time after all...), but we were rewarded with a great complimentary breakfast, enjoyed with some of our favorite people. (Yes, the girls just ate cereal and yogurt, but the rest of us enjoyed the really good stuff. :)
We checked out of the hotel and drove about an hour to get to one of our most anticipated vacation stops... THE BEACH!!!
The beach was beautiful, the weather perfect, and the family pictures turned out better than I could have hoped for! Here's a random assortment of some of my favorite pics from the day that didn't make it into the last post.
Ivy was afraid of the "big water" ie waves...
... but she loved the sand.
The pictures don't lie... it really was an awesome beach day. :) From there, Dad and Mom took us all to one of their Florida favorites-- Dixie Crossroads Restaurant in Titusville.
A real southern style fish feast!
Thanks for dinner, Dad! We took a few pictures outside of the restaurant afterwards.
Feeling fully satisfied from our meal and beach day, we drove back to Kissimmee, checked into the condo, and slept like rocks once again.
Sunday: Sunday came along and we were all ready for a day of rest.
Nana and the girls being silly before we left for church.
After church we really just took it easy for the rest of the day, and spent some time planning and getting excited about the upcoming week. Here's a few pictures of the condos we stayed at, the Orange Lake Resort.
We had two different units that we divided ourselves between. Me and Dad, Mom stayed in the two bedroom unit; Lacey & Steve, Karl and Liz's family, and Eric stayed in the three bedroom unit. Each bedroom had its own bathroom, and we had more than enough space to fit everyone very comfortably. The units had been re-done recently and were super nice. We were all set for a fantastic week!
Stay tuned for more of our Florida adventures!
