*Warning* this post contains high amounts of negativity and whining. You are more than welcome to skip this post and jump down to a much happier post about Valentine's Day that I finally posted.
I try not to whine on my blog. I figure that I don't want to read it, why would anyone else? So I just haven't been blogging for a while. When it rains it pours. I really just want to vent right now, and so cyberspace gets to listen.
Sorry, I will be done now. On a happier note, I have found a new treat that I am IN LOVE with:

- I have had three sicknesses in the past two weeks. I am ready to be done.
- My car insurance has decided to be stupid. They have been pulling an extra 42 dollars out A MONTH since November. I need to switch insurance companies. Quickly. Any suggestions?
- Parent teacher conferences are this week. I really enjoy my students, and their parents are wonderful, but the idea of two days of teaching/conferencing from 8 AM - 8 PM is exhausting.
- I really want to go for a run, but it just keeps snowing! I thought we were in for an early spring . . .
- 2 1/2 weeks ago I ordered a new couch that I fell in love with. I was told it would be in 2 weeks later. When I called 2 weeks later a very rude sales agent informed me (after being handed around to every worker there) that it had not been made yet. Today they called to tell me it will be at least 3-4 weeks until it is made and shipped. So do I cancel the order of the couch that I truly love, or put up with obnoxious workers and delayed delivery. Ug.
- Between the furniture company and the insurance company, I am sick of working with people on the phone, especially ones who make me feel like a child.
Sorry, I will be done now. On a happier note, I have found a new treat that I am IN LOVE with:

Toasted Pecan Nut Crisps. I like the almond ones as well, but the pecan ones taste almost like french toast. I keep them at school for an after school snack.
Also, my 1st graders are doing their very first book report this week. They are SO excited. We picked out our books today. I promised them that I would do a book report as well. I am reading Gregor the Overlander. I hope it's good. And I hope I can get through it quickly.
Anyone up for ice cream this week?
*Just found this quote on my friend Suzette's blog. I thought it was appropriate.

And this one from my mom a while back:
"I believe that God only gives 3 answers to prayer: Yes, Not Yet, and I have something better in mind."

I'm sorry the couch is taking so long... I'd say if you really love it then wait for it. But you can write letters of complaint and next time you talk to them ask for some kind of discount/compensation... sometimes it works, but even if it doesn't it usually gets you talking to upper management, and they tend to be nicer than just general customer service staff. I'm ALWAYS up for ice cream... and Twizl Berry sounds pretty great right now I think. Just say when and I'll be there! I hope that things start looking up for you soon, and I'm glad that you at least have a new snack to enjoy after school! As for insurance, I'd suggest getting a free online quote from Progressive. They've been significantly cheaper than any of the other companies we've worked with, and I for one appreciate being able to do it all online and not deal with customer service people on the phone at all. :)
You know, that vent session wasn't so bad. At least if you have to vent you know how to do it. A lot better than I would do. I tell you, it's a good thing I didn't vent last week, I don't think I would have any friends anymore :) Not that I was venting about any of them but because I was such a mess emotionally. I'm so sorry about that couch. :( People are very frustrating sometimes. I too am up for ice cream. Actually, when am I not? I love ya girl!
Ice cream! Me, me! Besides, isn't about time for us to get together?? (Maybe all of us can go... I see Lacey and Liz are game!)
I'm sorry you're having a rough time. Our insurance agent is Dave Morrill and he seriously is the best in Cache Valley-- he will get you the cheapest (but good!) insurance possible. Call him!
Keep the couch. You will regret it if you cancel out on it.
I hope things start looking up. Good luck with conferences this week...
I'd say if you really love it, then stick with the couch. My brother in law ans his wife waited for months for the chairs to go with their new dining table and only after pestering the company every few weeks to make sure it was happening. Why some companies need to be babysat I'm not really sure but it's infuriating as a consumer.
You might want to look into Bear River Mutual Insurance for auto. That's what we use and they have good rates but still give good coverage. They are able to give good rates because they're picky. They will only take you if you have one ticket at most in the last three years. We only pay about $60/month for the two of us and two cars - one liability only the other comprehensive. Just my $0.02.
Oh Katie!! I am so sorry if it makes you feel any better I know what your going through.Well not exactly but that is why the quote was on the blog. Keep sticking with it, things will get better.
As far as the couch I would say keep it. You love it so much. And look at it this way it will give you something to look forward to in a few weeks.
For insurance we have Geico they are pretty cheap. Or when we lived in Utah we had Bear River. They were really good too.
And if you lived closer I would take you out for ice cream my treat. But since you don't, I will go and have a bowl for you right now and be sending good vibes your way as I am eating it.
Keep your chin up!!! Things will get better. Hugs :)
oh my gosh, I love both those qoutes.
Progressive insurance is what we have and I feel like they are the lowest rates around. You could check into that. :)
I am sorry about your couch, and all the other frusturating things. Its so annoying when it rains it really does pour!
we have all been there, I would love to go for ice cream as well! Hang in there girl!
1. Love those quotes.
2. I already texted about ice cream.
3. Couch. My friend works at a baby shop and the same thing happened with a crib and a lady - it just wasn't getting delivered even with the extra days she told the lady. It was really frustrating to the lady but it was really hard for my friend because she wanted to help - what these salespeople are doing I don't know. So if you love it can it be found elsewhere where your business will do some good? Is there a higher person to talk to about how you feel about their customer service? And remember too - we all have bad days and sometimes we take it out on others without trying . . . sadly.
Yummy, I can't wait to try the new treat! Sorry for the rest of the yuckiness! And yes I agree I would try to get a hold of someone at the department and get a discount, if you talk to the right person I'm 95% sure you will get some kind of discount. And If I were a few states closer I would totally be up for a run and ice cream, in fact both sound nice! :)
:( Sorry. Life seems to go that way - all the crazy and annoying things pile up at once. I can TOTALLY relate to P/T conf....yuck. Not horrible - just LONG. Hang in there....things will turn around. As far as the couch - I'd stick it out (if you really love it), but I'd ALSO call the manager and tell him what an awful experience you're having and how you're ready to cancel the order....maybe he'll knock $50 off or something....
I think a good vent is a lot better than expensive therapy! We all need to do it sometimes. I hope you get the sofa problem fixed. Maybe they owe you a little discount!
I am so glad that you were able to vent, everyone needs to do that once in a while. But what I love about you Katie is that you find postive things in life to focus on!
